The surfer and the merman (Austin x Narrator)

Author's note: New post--going to do the editing much more on a Windows PC or a laptop.

For your information; this is a very different Fan Fiction I had in a while ever since this is a merman and surfer girl in a modern universe kind of setting.

Narrator's point of view

Today is a hot, humid and sunny yet beautiful weather on the island of Oahu which locals called it ‘the gathering isle’ thanks to their multicultural people and heritage.

In addition, the weather feels welcoming to everybody who are planning to go to the beach; whether they are either in the water or just staying on dry land—there is always something for everybody.

Just after a couple of warm ups on being prepared to go surfing; I look out at the condition of the waves.

As I start to paddle out towards the area where the surf aren’t breaking; additionally the surf break I am surfing at the area which is an area known as Queens ever since this is the famous surf break where people master their surfing skills just after they learned how to surf at a surf break which is just next to Queens Surf Break; known as Canoes.

Canoes is the surf break where many of the people learn how to surf there; once they master their skills on surfing properly—they can move onto Queens Surf Break.

While paddling out; some of the local surfers does say ’Hi’ to me as they wait for their waves very patiently on their turn.

I waved to them with a smile on my face then continue on paddling to the area where the waves aren’t breaking.

As the surfers look out for a wave they are going to ride on it additionally some looks up towards the sky on how the weather is today as well as how the clear the skies are today.

While waiting patiently, I see a shadow in the water on what looks like a half human and half fish—especially the lower body has a sparkling blue fish tail while the upper body are human.

Once I reached the area; I waited patiently with my favorite white surfboard which I bought the longboard from a shop which is known as Aloha Board Shop on my turn to ride. [Author's note: You know I would love to write a surfer's AU on here as the surfboard I had in here is a white long board with designs of blue [And shades of aqua green] hibiscus flowers I decided to do the drawing and painting on the surfboard with a different type of markers which you can use for drawing and coloring the art on the surfboard]

I look down at the water again; nothing—I guess the shadowy figure is gone.

While waiting for my turn; I watch how the other surfers on their surfboard ride their waves; some ride in an athletic style yet mixed with confidence and aggression while others decided to go more of a long and smooth kind of riding style.

My style of riding of a surfboard is what rather more of a long and smooth kind of experience in real life instead of a strong yet competitive kind of surf ride.

As after a long wait; a young surfer calls out on a wave to me: “Hey, I’d think this might be your wave—it is coming in your way.”

“I don’t know, I’m . . . just not too sure . . .” I called out to him nervously.

Although I rather wait patiently; however luckily the surfers decided to move aside therefore I can get my first ride on the wave.

Once I got up on the surfboard, I start to inhale the salty air deeply yet instantly to feel the salty air through my nose while riding the surfboard happily yet feeling relaxed as well.

While I am too busy enjoying the ride on my surfboard; feeling as if I am the driver of my very own car in life or as the captain of my own ship/boat—suddenly out of nowhere at the side: something leaps out of the water on the right hand side of the surfboard additionally this draws a lot of attention from people on wondering what is the beautiful blue fish tail with the upper body of a man.

“Hey, what is that?” Calls an older surfer; pointing out to the object which is now leaping out from the water on the right side of the surfboard additionally I didn’t get to pay any close attention to the object until another surfer calls towards me “Hey, I’d think you should take a look at the side of your surfboard.”

I gasp loudly additionally I dive (*more like felled) into the water and get a look at the tail and they are right—it is something strange yet it feels very weird.

The tail is a beautiful fish tail in a shimmering blue which it has shades of turquoise and teals—reminding me of the waters around the islands of Hawaii additionally the upper body is a human.

I tried to take a look; the weird thing is also beautiful as well ever since he has a pair of beautiful eyes on how they can change colours on the scenery—he stares at me; not with a glare but with a stare of confusion like ‘what is this weird creature?’ 

As the surfers above the water surface start to chatter worriedly about what is down there; I get back to the surface with a loud gasp just as if I had drowned in the water.

“Hey, are you okay?” Ask the young surfer {A grom FYI} who called me on a wave earlier for me to ride.

I coughed and replied; feeling out of breath: “Yeah; I am . . . okay but . . . you know I found there is something weird down there.”

“Oh.”

As I get back up on the surfboard; another young surfer this time it is a girl who is around twenty four years or twenty five years old called me “Hey, do you want to continue surfing?” 

“Huh? Oh, I-I . . . I’d think so.”

As I paddle out towards the same area earlier I waited for the waves; the weird half human half fish creature did have a pair of watchful eyes on me.

Austin’s point of view 

When I am waiting carefully for the young lady who is now paddling back towards the same area where she did wait for a wave earlier just before a human called her on a wave; additionally when she ride on a weird long looking board which the other humans also ride on it additionally lying down their body on it additionally they use their pair of arms to paddle and a pair of legs for propelling moves or something like that.

Just when she goes in for the wave; this is when I want to join in with her as well.

While she is riding the smooth glass like waves; feeling full of joy—I decided to go join in her as well just to leap out of the water out of nowhere just like a dolphin; leaping out of the water while riding alongside the weird long looking platform she is standing on.

Except I hate when a human just spoil the moment on calling me out as a weird creature like as if I am some kind of weirdo or a scary monster out of black lagoon however I am truly not one of those scary creatures out there nevertheless you want to call me ‘ a weird creature’? Fine! Go ahead, I dare you to!

Anyway; when she got off from the weird looking long object she is standing on with a pair of leg and under a pair of foot: she did take a look at me as a glance additionally I look more confused than I was before.

I had to say, she is just so beautiful with her tan skin; her pair of brown eyes: long black hair with a pair of beautiful eyebrows additionally when she squirmed to take a look at me; she founded out the weird creature people are talking about is actually me.

Plus what about her body? Her body is athletic however it looks more like a human body on how they play a game on the land by using a pair of closed hands on hitting the white ball over the net.

Just when the humans started to talk crazy stuff about me; she gone back up to her floating platform and paddle out to the original area where she waited earlier while I swim to an enclosed area where no one can spot me—ever.

However just when I look at her surfing from below the surface--the way she surf is so amazing.
