Author's note: This is an old writing I had found it from an old writing document I did back November of 2023 except I hadn't been able to do any of the editing or the publishing onto the personal blog where I did wanted to publish this originally back in 2023 however I hadn't gotten the chance to simply publish it ever since I am truthfully afraid that I didn't truthfully liked this particular writing project since I did this writing project back on the November 8th on the year 2023: everyone.
Also, consider this to be the very first writing project on 'Mano and Paula' I have ever published it on my personal blog for the very first time ever since I am feeling truthfully nervous about publishing this writing project on my personal blog here a.k.a on my Blogspot Blog where I would highly considered it to be 'A neutral ground' and a 'A neutral blog' where I can definitely post on anything I wanted to publish on here definitely.
Anyway; consider Mano's official face claim is the actor who plays as Manu from a Hallmark Movie called 'Aloha Heart' which is one of the movies I did truthfully enjoyed with "All summer long" which is another Hallmark movie I did truthfully enjoyed as well in my own opinion.
Plus on another note: when it comes to how he is going to truly look like a true mer-man: then I would say 'he would be an amazing merman whom he had a shark tail (I would say like a reef shark tail where you can truly find them in the surrounding waters of the islands of Hawaii) as his lower body part in addition to how his upper body part is full human as usually for mermaids (Or mer-mans in this case that is): his upper body half is a full-human with the gills of the shark while his lower body part is a half of a reef shark body with a tail hence the reason why he is a merman in this particular writing project while Paula is a human being whom she loves better than going surfing, scuba diving and swimming in addition to the part where although she had to truly work at *Cafe Glace (*Where it is now located at the Twin Fins Hotel as Jaime O' Brien's school of surf is also located there as well) as a full-time waitress to cover the extensions she does needed to truthfully cover it and yet; when she wasn't **waitressing (**Despite how she did have to face both unpleasant customers and imposter customers as well dejectedly.) During her time; she would be either in the water or at the beach; the streets of Waikiki or anywhere whenever she is going somewhere whenever she isn't on her period (In general that is--most of the time for real) Except however . . . whenever she is on her period or when she has a menstrual period 'on' status; she would on the beach: either she would definitely be either sitting down on a beach chair; doing nothing all day every day in addition to either she is reading a good book she had found it at a local book store; doing her coloring on one of the relaxing adult coloring book with a set of ***Alpha alcohol makers which she does have a whole of set of it (***It's a long story but that would be saved for another day and another time) or otherwise she would definitely be at her very own apartment; listening to music, doing loads of art works; browsing the internet on her brand new silver iMac or handling her confidential errands where does she need to cover it before the actual deadline when she isn't truly going out to anywhere.'
Oh and she is surfing on a local custom made fun board which is a different type of surf board as it looks like a long board with their wider space on the width of the surf board space but can be moved freely just like an actual short surf board.
Plus this dialogue does truly take place at one of the famous surf break where you definitely can learn how to truly surf from one of the famous surf companies where they do surf lessons along with having to truly go surfing at the waters off of the Waikiki beach every single day as well as either you are either going there for an official holiday for the very first time; second time, umpteenth time or even having to surf there every single day during the day time hours or even during the evening hours which I would normally do it imaginatively in my very own imagination when I am living in the island of Oahu, Hawaii as an online persona or otherwise; definitely in another life as an grad alumna of either UH or UH Pacific in addition to a long-time residence of Waikiki, Oahu; Hawaii.

(*They both reached the water surface and both of them swam back to her actual fun surf board which does looks like a long board however the only difference is the ability of how it can be moved freely just like an actual short board*)
Mano: (*Turns to look at Paula*) Hey, Paula: are you feeling okay?
Paula: (*Minor cough from holding her breath underwater then turns to look at Mano*) Yeah, I'm okay; Mano--I am so sorry: Mano. I am feeling so worried about the part where I might choke myself on saltwater; Mano.
Mano: Whoa, be careful: Paula: you don't want to truthfully choke yourself on this one: sweetie. For us actual mermaids and mer-mans back in my hometown of Pacifica can hold our breath underwater longer back when I used to be in my hometown of Pacifica; Paula--so . . . (*Looks embarrassed as he blushes & turns away from her*) No 'true' offense to you, Paula.
Paula: (*Swims over to give Mano a hug*) It's okay, Mano. (*Looks at him with a shy smile on her face while blushing as red as an actual red hibiscus flower*) Sometimes I am feeling jealous of how you get to be a merman; Mano.
Mano: (*Turns to look at Paula with a shocked facial expression as his pair of eyes widens*) Really?
Paula: (*Nods at Mano with a warm, complimenting smile on her face while staring at his pair of beautiful pair of dark sparkling chocolate brown eyes which does matches her own pair of eyes too as well*)
Mano: (*Nodded towards her as a reply*) Awesome, but sometimes . . . it would be nice of us to be like you.
Paula: (*Looks at Mano with a confused facial expression*) Us? Who are you talking about, Mano?
Mano: (*Looks towards the distance at a different part of Waikiki where the building of the famous Halekulani hotel and Royal Hawaiian Hotel are located on the edge of the famous Waikiki beach*) N-no; I'm speaking about me and my citizens back at my home in the Pacific Ocean; Paula. Many miles away from the island of Oahu where you are coming from: Paula.
Paula: (*Swims over to Mano and places her hand on his left shoulder with a genuinely concerned look on her face*) Oh wow and yeah . . . I am so sorry about that: Mano.
Mano: (*Letting out a heavy moan*) No need to apologize: Paula. (*Looks out at a distance before turning his attention back to her*) I mean sometimes I want to explore the human world for real: Paula.
Paula: (*Looks at Mano with an actual shell-shocked facial expression on her face*) Really? Is this the reason why you kept going up to all of the different beaches so late at night at all of the different islands of the Oceana region?
Mano: (*Nods at her when he looks at her properly*) Yeah, including Hawaii. Well . . . Except for the ones with scary waves, Paula.
Paula: (*Chuckles at him very softly while wading around the water*) Okay . . . I think I now truthfully understand about the reason why you always go to the beach at night.
Mano: (*Smiles softly at Paula*) Yeah, except I always want to go stargazing with you.
Paula: Oh really, Mano?
Mano: (*Nods at Paula*) Yes; exactly; I always remembered about how I would always go stargazing whenever I couldn't go to sleep when I was a little mer-boy: Paula.
Paula: (*Flashing a warming smile at Mano*) Oh wow, that's so amazing: Mano.
Mano: (*Looks at her with a genuinely serious look across his face to let her know both a warning and a secret she does needed to keep it from everyone*) Yeah, except; it is very difficult to truthfully do this with all of the people spotting me as an actual mer-man and yet they wanted to either take a picture of me or recording an actual video of me whenever I go up to the beaches of Oahu, Paula.
Paula: (*Nods worriedly with a 'true' look of a worried facial expression across her face about how she is going to keep this as an actual secret from everyone in general especially from the people whom she had known them very well for a very long time and vice versa*) Yeah but how? I mean it's not so easy for you as a merman and all but . . .
Mano: (*Gives her a wink and an equally secretive smile on his face as a response of what she had said earlier about her concerns on people spotting him as an actual mer-man*) Don't worry, Paula; we'll find a secret location where we both can find each other to look out for the beautiful stars in the night sky, Paula.
Paula: (*Nods at him with a balance of a warm and a secretive smile on her face as a response*) Awesome, I'll see you then whenever we meet each other. Well . . . from . . . a secret location; that is . . . for real. (*Nods at him again as a response with the same secretive warm smile on her face*)
Mano: Me too, but . . . (*Swims over the position himself next to Paula*)
Paula: (*Turns to look at Mano with a puzzled facial expression*) But what?
Mano: How can I see you again, Paula?
Paula: What do you mean by that, Mano? 'Cause . . . no "True" offense to you but you are a merman; Mano.
Mano: (*Shocked facial expression on his face*) Oh no, I am so sorry: Paula. (*Places his left arm on Paula's right shoulder*) I'd think I'll see you again when you are going surfing?
Paula: (*Gives him an equally warm and welcoming smile on her face*) Even better, how about you may want to see me at the beach, Mano?
Mano: (*Now flashes at her with a genuine concern on his face as a response to her reaction*) Good idea but won't you get caught by the local authorities?
Paula: (*Looks at Mano in a mixture of genuine confusion and concern*) For what?
Mano: For going to the beach at the hours where you are not allowed to be there during the time of the night time hours; Paula. No offense to you, Paula.
Paula: Don't worry, Mano; we'll keep this as a secret. (*Winks at Mano with a playful smile on her face*)
Mano: (*Nods with an equally nervous and a playful smile as he answers*) Okay, I'm in Paula Leah Thompson.
Paula: Anytime, Mano. (*Both of them exchange high five*)
Or perhaps we can consider Mano's mer-man's tail as a lower body part of a whale shark's tail which are usually seldom in the islands of Hawaii in the comparison to the other sea creatures of Hawaii especially when we are talking about the other species of sharks/ manos (Manos means 'Sharks' in Hawaiian for plural); humpback whales where you can find them in the winter season; spinner dolphins and manta rays where you find them all season around in the islands of Hawaii followed by the countless species of reef fishes and the octopus as well.
