Author’s note: This all happened just before we realised the world is in serious crisis this year plus I am going to do the writing on Chaz and narrator fan fiction.
Waking up to the grey yet cloudy morning weather this morning felt very different to waking up to the seldom appearance of a beautiful clear day with a lovely rainbow appearing above in the beautiful clear blue sky however this morning, I felt like I wanted to go down for a surf just so I can be on my own with my thoughts additionally how can I clear my head from the number of thoughts I had in my mind personally.
Chaz is now sleeping on his side of the bed in his long sleeve sweatshirt with his hood up, snoring softly by his breathing as his stomach goes up and down from the breathing of his nose: inhaling and exhaling.
After preparing for the day, I decided to bring a beach bag with my essential items which I needed to bring it with me.
Plus there wasn’t too many people today, mostly because of the weather—the waves are very different to how usually how during the waves condition summer season.
In addition; the waves are great for immediate surfers to the more advanced yet more experienced surfers.
I mean even though I am an experienced surfer from the very beginning of how I learned to surf from the time when I am only five years old just when I learned how to surf on regular surfing and body surfing—I didn’t normally ended up choosing the north shore on Sunset beach, Pipeline and Waimea Bay; but instead I ended up staying with the crowded Waikiki beach where everybody gets a surf lesson as well as learning to master the skills of surfing at a surf break called Canoes and then they moved on to Queens once they mastered the skills.
Like why did I decided to stick to Waikiki just when many of the experienced surfers move up to the North Shore?
However it doesn’t matter anyway; I still stick to Waikiki ever since some of the more experienced surfers stayed there as well.
While I rent a surfboard from a vendor; the person ask in return to take care of my bag safely ever since there is a lot of people who did lost their bag which may contain their valuable items inside.
I thanked him and do the warm ups just before I head out to surf.
[Thankfully I managed to wear a pair of two piece just under my white tank top and a pair of running shorts!]
As I paddle out, there are very few surfers as well ever since today felt as if this is the day after the hurricane which makes it even more eerie yet more like a ghost town.
The surfers who are in the water are now patiently waiting for their waves ever since there are two keys on surfing: respect and patience.
Respect because it is important not to hog all of the waves in addition to respect the other surfers plus when they catch a wave; you shouldn’t *drop in.
(*Drop in is a word for a person who get caught in someone’s wave instantly when they already catch a wave)
Patience because for the reason due to how it is important to wait for your turn to catch a wave while observing how the other surfers catch their waves and ride on it.
Surfing is a sport which may look easy and fun though however in reality they aren’t very easy at all! You do need surf lessons when you want to learn to surf.
However thankfully Chaz knows why I enjoyed surfing yet I find it to be relaxing yet it feels a lot like a meditation instead of just looking at it as a sport.
Plus even though I did surf, at first he mostly observed my surfing yet he thought the way I surf I could become a pro surfer however becoming a pro isn’t the option for me ever since I do at times felt like a deer in the headlights yet my energy felt too relaxed for surf competitions.
Thankfully he understands my choice just right after I told him the truth about how competitions aren’t for me anyway ever since I prefer to do it for fun additionally I remember just when I surf for the umpteenth time at a surf break called Popular [Locals normally call it ‘Pops’.]—Chaz who is observing from a nearby area does felt as when he is in love with someone.
I thought he is in love with someone else however it wasn’t the answer. It is surfing which makes him want to go surfing as well.
I told him it is important to get surf lessons as well ever since surfing does require a lesson plus thankfully he understands the reason why surfing may look easy though in reality it is difficult.
Additionally it is important to learn how to surf properly.
Thankfully he got a lesson and he did well on surfing which means we both can surf together however I didn’t want to go for the difficult surf break so for now, I help him out with the surfing by going for Canoes surf break along with Queens surf break.
Even though he did surfing, I’d still remember while I am back in Washington State for a while all due to minor sickness [Don’t worry, it is only a minor issue I had back in the past]—the team went to Maui Island for a workshop along with a downtime for a couple of days.
Plus one day just when Chaz is down with a minor flu, he wanted to go out however he couldn’t because Charlie and Josh wanted him to stay in however he did sneaks out to Kanaha Beach Park where did manage to do a video on windsurfing which he did mostly whenever he is in Maui.
In Oahu, you can do it at Kailua however he wasn’t into it ever since he prefers regular surfing and body surfing as well mostly.
Windsurfing is one of the more difficult surfing as well as kitesurfing ever since they do require a lot of high adrenaline and energy compared to regular surfing and body surfing where it is low to moderate level of adrenaline.
Except I’d think of how Chaz is into windsurfing just when he is in Maui, as one of the beautiful island among the neighbouring islands—I’d think Maui is one of the island where we been a few times before.
I didn’t want to join not because I hate it—more of the reason that it does feel very different to regular surfing where normally the adrenaline level is either low [Perhaps is it recreational surfing? I’d think so; maybe.], medium [If you are going to the surf break for immediate surfers] or high [Just when you are going for big waves level.]—but windsurfing? This is a very difficult activity ever since the adrenaline level is at a moderate to high level.
Luckily we understand our personal choice ever since we speak it all out calmly to each other.
After a few moments, a wave is on the way however when I am just about to let it slide as a passerby, a surfer calls out to me: “Hey, have you caught a wave yet?”
“No, I hadn’t—I am still waiting.”
“I’d think you need to catch one just after two or three waves pass by you.”
“Okay.”
I mean surfing is all fun though however you do have to be patient at times plus unfortunately I sometimes get too distracted by my wading my own thoughts deeply.
Luckily I managed to catch a wave just when I let the other two or three waves pass by me.
As I got up, they applauded for me just as if I manage to pass a test or something like that although this isn’t a surf competition.
Just as if I managed to catch a wave, I heard another applause from the Walls area.
They all turned out of curiosity plus another surfer asked “Hey, who is that over there?”
I turned around and found someone who look familiar to me all thanks to his kinky sunshine platinum blonde hair which goes well with his brown skin.
It is Chaz!
Chaz is now watching me surfing from The Walls and wait, what is he doing with my beach bag?!
"Whoa, who is this guy? A surfer?"
"Yes, he is a surfer but today he isn't going surfing and that is my boyfriend as well."
It is Chaz!

"Whoa, who is this guy? A surfer?"
"Yes, he is a surfer but today he isn't going surfing and that is my boyfriend as well."
"Wow! He looks so different, is he a mixed citizen or something like that?"
I didn't answer the question but a voice called to the guy is "Yes! I am mixed and don't you think the question you are asking her is personal to me?"
"Huh?"
"He said it is personal thus I wouldn't recommend letting it out or something like that because some information are meant to be private."
"Sorry, didn't mean to ask you and your boyfriend that mixed citizen question."
"It's okay but sometimes you need to know some information are very personal for your information."
I didn't answer the question but a voice called to the guy is "Yes! I am mixed and don't you think the question you are asking her is personal to me?"
"Huh?"

"Hey, what is his name?" called another surfer to me.
"His name is Chaz Galloway." I replied to the surfer.
"Wow, no wonder he is truly your boyfriend yet he is a surfer as well! You are so lucky!"
"Not always . . ."
"Yeah; I mean . . . no one is like any of the successful CEO business people or even looking like a start studded celebrity."
"You can say that again."
"Hey! What's your name?" Ask Chaz to the surfer who I am talking to.
"Hey Chaz, my name is Kyle; nice to meet you: man!"
"Yeah, me too but why would you be staying in?"
"I don't know but . . ." Then when he looks out at the horizon; the conditions becomes flat.
"You know what? I'd think we better go back in."
"It's okay."
"Hey, what is his name?" called another surfer to me.
"His name is Chaz Galloway." I replied to the surfer.
"Wow, no wonder he is truly your boyfriend yet he is a surfer as well! You are so lucky!"
"Not always . . ."
"Yeah; I mean . . . no one is like any of the successful CEO business people or even looking like a start studded celebrity."
"You can say that again."
"Hey! What's your name?" Ask Chaz to the surfer who I am talking to.
"Hey Chaz, my name is Kyle; nice to meet you: man!"
"Yeah, me too but why would you be staying in?"
"I don't know but . . ." Then when he looks out at the horizon; the conditions becomes flat.
"You know what? I'd think we better go back in."

After paddling back in, we all meet up with Chaz on the sandy dry land where he hands me my towel generously with a smile on his face. "Thank you," I said while drying myself from the salt water.
"Hey man, you're Chaz: right? I'm Kyle, nice to meet you." Said the surfer who ask me to catch a wave while their volume of their voice are now much lower which is good news ever since it is hard for them to meet up at the walls or even in the water ever since he [Chaz] didn't felt like going surfing.
"Yes, I'm Chaz; nice to meet you too." He replied with a wink and a smile.
"Cool and oh, those two surfers are my friends: Nigel and Justin." Kyle points out to the two surfers who are now chattering with the surfboard rental vendor owner about how he actually recognise Chaz easily while I am waiting for a wave.
"Cool, do you guys go down to Waikiki?" Ask Chaz.
"No, we didn't however ever since it is just only a February--we decided to go down here due to wave conditions."
"Wow, awesome!"
"Exactly, we normally prefer the North Shore however we do love to come down here as well sometimes."
"Cool, my girlfriend and I--we love coming down here too; are you guys are locals?"
"Definitely but we welcome her presence whenever she goes down surfing here."
"Amazing! Thank you for giving her a heads up on catching a wave."
"Hey, you too; man--for watching her surfing and giving that extra applause for her surfing."
"Oh wow, thank you and nice to meet you all!"
"You too, man." Replied Nigel.
"Yeah, but what is your girlfriend's name?" Ask a confused Justin while he is scratching his head from his tied up man bun.
"Oh, I'm sorry for not introducing myself: I am Paula Leah--nice to meet you guys."
"Oh yeah, me too; nice to meet you too. Your boyfriend is such a real keeper for you; what a lucky guy he is and vice versa on you being a lucky girl." Winks Kyle while he give me a genuinely full smile as he shakes my hand. [Don't worry, this takes place just before year 2020.]
"Nice to meet you too, Kyle additionally thank you for asking me to catch a wave." I replied with a smile while shaking his hand in return.
"Hey, do you two can surf sometimes with us? Maybe we can go to Ala Moana Beach Park or even to Diamond Head Beach sometimes." He said to Chaz.
"Cool, I love the idea; sure and I'll give you our phone numbers so we can call you." Winks Chaz.
"Me too, we'll see you soon?"
"Yes, definitely; nice to meet an amazing couple plus hopefully you guys can stay together for a long time! Aloha!"
"Aloha to you too, guys!"
As they head off elsewhere, it is just the two of us standing at the empty Waikiki beach where it going to be fulfilled with people very soon.
"Wow, I didn't know you went out to surf this morning." He said to me while we make proper eye contact with each other.
"I did but I hadn't gotten any waves to ride yet however those guys are knowing I am waiting for a wave patiently however they think I need to catch one before people can fulfil the water."
"Exactly and the vendor owner luckily recognise you ever since you are one of the few surfers who frequently rent a surfboard from him every day while paying him a lot but he didn't need to, it is your aloha and gratitude as well as your presence is just enough for him."
"I know, but I wanted to give him a better life."
"Yes, but a better life doesn't mean it is all about having so much money just to become a rich billionaire."
"What do you mean, Chaz?"
"A better life means just when you have something you are always plus truly thankful for."
"For example?"
"For example a family who loves you truly with their presence, support as well as sharing advice plus doing activities you can spend time together additionally having a shelter you need for you and your family plus what about the delicious food they did cook for you and the other family members as well as clean water to shower, drink and washing the dishes additionally clothes? That's what a happy life is and keeping their life private instead of showing it all off on TV, internet or even on social media 24/7."
"I . . . I have to agree with you; Chaz--I am just so happy to be in Hawaii with you; going surfing plus how we can support each other . . . everything . . . I just love everything I have right now even you; Chaz."
"I agree and are you thankful for the relationship we have?"
"Absolutely, sweetie."
"Even when we fight?"
"Of course! I mean I know we want to confess it all out to our friends but our friends knows nothing about relationship so we have to speak it all out to each other about the issue we have and now it makes our relationship stronger and better; Chaz. I mean I didn't want to trade you to the universe for someone."
"Exactly, and I am thankful to be with you too: Paula!" He replied with a smile on his face.
"Me too! And what's for breakfast?" I replied, changing the subject.
"It's all on you, however you had to give back the surfboard you are now renting plus you need to shower too; Paula!"
I laughed plus I replied "You are right, Chaz! I do need to do those two important tasks; plus Rainbow Drive in?"
He replied with another smile and another wink: "Cool, it's a good choice."
Then we head back to our apartment.
